Synopsis
The end of my journey has arrived. March 25, 3019 of the Third Age is the key date on which Frodo Baggins destroys the One Ring on Mount Destiny, causing the fall of Barad-dûr and the final defeat of Sauron. Is the Feast of the Annunciation, the moment when it is celebrated that God became man to save humanity. By destroying the Ring on this day, Tolkien links the defeat of absolute evil (Sauron) to the beginning of salvation in the real world. It was also considered the historic date of Jesus Christ's death on the cross. Thus, Sauron's fall represents sacrifice and ultimate victory over darkness. In England, the New Year was celebrated (known as Lady Day). Tolkien replied this in his work by making March 25 the first day of the New Year in Gondor after the Dark Lord's defeat, ushering in a new era. The next day, have a beautiful purple day.
